but I have a question: in the big projects and movies , is it ok use these shaders ? and no crash or complexity? ...... please answer me if you have time
How do I get this to look right with Mental Ray? Its rendering ver weird almost black in areas and grey in others. Every once in a while you will see a some blue...
Nice shader. It works well in Maya Software. In Mental ray, like it has been said, there is a transparency problem. It has to do with the refraction. You may be able to tweak the refraction and get rid of the problem. If the surface you are using is flat, just get rid of the refractions altogether.
The shader looks good when rendered with the Maya software renderer but is very different when rendered with Mental Ray in Maya with the same shader settings.
