Thanks. That worked and got the UI. To test the plug-in I created a polygon sphere, selected a vertex with soft select and pressed the "Create" button. I got another error: softClusterEX.py line 182: Selected objects Unsupported! # -
Webber Huang said almost 11 years ago:
Well, you need to know how to use soft selection first, check this article:https://download.autodesk.com/global/docs/maya2014/en_us/index.html?url=files/SMd_Use_the_Soft_Modification_Tool.htm,topicNumber=d30e355442 -

I was using the soft modification property of the translate tool and using your script on the selected vertices. The link in your reply leads to the soft-mod deformer, so I tried that as well. With the softModHandle selected I ran your script. I got the same error as well: softClusterEX.py line 182: Selected objects Unsupported! # -

Sorry,my mistake, yes, i mean soft selection, not soft mod deformer. Just select poly vertex(s),hit "b" to enable soft selection mode, hold b + hold left click to adjust the radius till the range you want, click "create" button. This's the right article: https://download.autodesk.com/global/docs/maya2014/en_us/files/GUID-2CEF5B4A-DC9D-48B6-A3DB-B86936DB1E5F.htm -

Thanks, but still does not work. Same error. -

Have you check my demo where explain how it work and what it can do? -
gX3 said almost 11 years ago:
That was the first thing I did. All I am doing is soft select a vertex from a polysphere and hit the "create" button of the softCluster plug-in. Exactly as you do in your demo video. Every time I get the same error: softClusterEX.py line 182: Selected objects Unsupported! # -
