How to write a cover letter in 4 steps
I have spoke about all the things you should do to keep your employer interested, but I haven’t mentioned anything about the layout or how you should actually write and present your cover letter, here are the 4 steps from military resume writing services you should take when writing a cover letter:
1) A cover letter is exactly that… A letter so you should include your address and contact details in the upper right hand corner just like you would with any letter. Then on the left hand side you should include the name and address of the company you are applying for.
When you begin your letter you should always try to find out the persons name who will be dealing with your job application and include their name, the more personal it feels to the employer the better!
2) You should always plan out your cover letter before writing or using https://1resumewritingservice.com/help-with-resume-wording/ it this will make sure you do not end up repeating yourself or repeating anything you have said in your resume. Also you should start your cover letter by telling the employer exactly what you want for example:
“I am writing to you regarding the ‘Online Marketing’ role I saw recently advertised in the paper, I hope I am not to late to apply for this role, If the job is still available would greatly appreciate it if you would consider me for the position”
3) Always mention why you think you suit the job, tell them anything that you know or can do that relates to the job role. For example if it is a football coach tell them you used to be the captain at your school and you were in a team where you were one of the star players etc.
It doesn’t matter if you have learnt or had the experience while working in a similar role as long as it relates to the job then it will help.
An example of this would be something like:
“The football coach job really excites me and I feel I would fit in perfectly for the position, I used to be the school football captain and I have been in a football team since I was 14, I hold a qualification in football training and I work very well in part of a team.”
Stuff like this will basically make up your whole cover letter, you need to sell yourself to the employer and make them feel like it would be stupid not to hire you!
4) When you come to closing your cover letter you need to be straight to the point, you should state when you are available for interviews and make them feel like they have to interview you, see example on the website, If it didn’t already say in the job listing when the job role would be starting from you should tell them when you will be available for work.
