Installation: Place the script in your Maya-Scriptfolder (e.g. C:\Users\Username\Documents\maya\2014-x64\scripts) Restart Maya. Type CylExtrude to execute the tool.
This tool is for quick creating cables in Maya. The MakeLive-Button has the same function as the magnet-button in the menubar. The CV-Curve-Button starts the CV-Curve tool.
1. create a CV-Curve 2. choose Cylinder-Sites (Edges). This value can't changed later, so choose wisely. 3. Press Extrude 4. Now you can change the Divisions and the radius of your extrusion with the sliders or type your value. The sliders minimum is 1, so if you want values lower than 1 you can go to the channelbox, open the "cylex##"-Node and change the radius there. 5. With the Edit Curve-Button you can select the CVs of your curve and move them around. If you chose MakeLive before, the CVs are bound to your Live-Object. 6. If you are happy with your result, click "Select Extrusion and delete history" for finalizing the extrusion. 7. You can now press "select Curve" and move your curve around for another extrusion, or create a new curve with the CV-Curve Tool.
