It only seems to be effective but when i move the translate the controler on the x axis lefts to right there is no change. i think this is because you have it set up for only the corners and not up and down. It would be COOL if you could get it to work similar to most rigs like Max and Moom. where the blendshapes are effected on every pat of the controller intead of the corners... or maybe i'm just doing it wrong i don't know.
