Just curious- is it possible to make it works with instance type geometry?
I mean, in 3Ds Max/Blender when you want to add some new geometry to one of the already existed instance-object, you just attach them. But in Maya if you want to combine something new to instance node, all other instances will be dead.
With this SmartCombine option instances do not disappear, but the connection between them is broken.
