Model and animate complex gear systems with the click of a button with this MEL script for Maya. Type in your desired size, thickness, speed, frame count, and orientation and the script will model and animate your gear for you ensuring that each gear will rotate at the appropriate speed to match up with the prior gears.
Instructions To load this script, copy and paste the Maya script file into your Maya scripts directory located at My Documents/Maya/Version#/scripts/ or user/Library/Preferences/Autodesk/maya/Version#/scripts or copy and paste this copy into the Maya script editor, press crtl+A, crtl+Enter. Once you have done either of those then type GearGenerator() into the MEL command line and enjoy.
