To load script type "source jrTornado; jrTornado". Press play to see effect. You will see five locators, the top most locator being the GroupControl node which will show in the channel box already. This locator you can keyframe translation and scale to move tornado around etc. Also there are extra keyable attributes for speed, spin and radius to add randomness to movement. The radius attributes control the "density" thickness of the tornado not the "shape" of the funnel. To control the shape you need to play with the ramp on the "tornadoRadiusMult", this can be found in the Attribute editor for the particle shape, by right clicking on the text field on the custom attribute. Here you can make the bottom chip dark to shrink the bottom of the tornado. You can also add color chips for more shape control, have a play! The other 4 locators from the bottom up are the start position, start tangent, end tangent and end position. You can also keyframe their translations to adjust your tornado shape, specifically the tangent locators which will give your tornado the bends and twists. Have fun! Please give me some feedback.
