Although I've named this script "Lattice Tool" it bears little semblance to my original offering Lattice Tool 1.04, it is not a simple update but rather a complete reconsideration of how the lattice is created that allows for live update of the lattice mesh through manipulation of the control mesh in object and component mode. It is not until new geometry is added through any modelling tool that the "REFRESH" button is required..... Did I mention that it is possible to update the lattice on extruded edges in Lattice Tool 2.0... well it is!

Instead of using a bevel on the control object to create the latice mesh, this new  script extrudes a cylinder along each edge of the control object and creates a sphere at each of it's verts. The live updating requires all sorts of jiggery pokery like follicles and constriants to work but you need not worry about that stuff, I've done it for you... just enjoy creating!

So, that's the technical stuff.... now it's up to you to make beautiful imagery and animation with my free tool. Let your imagination go wild! I've attached a couple of very quick renders with this to illustrate ways in which Lattice Tool 2.0 might be used but if you think of other ways I can't wait to see them!

Once again this tool has been built in Maya 2013 and I have nott tried it in any other version.

Have fun with this and please let me know if there's any way that I might be able to improve the tool.
