Display glitch or actual Rig problem?

Hi Dustin,

I'm experiencing a very odd glitch with the RRA setup. I'm not entirely sure whether this is a problem with the rig. Or just a very odd display glitch. What's currently happening is that while I have my viewport on 2.0 mode the legs appear to function normally. But if I switch to the legacy (or high quality) viewport display the legs do not follow the ik/fk controls correctly. I've tested this in both maya 2013 and 2015 and the glitch is present in both. I noticed this only started happening some time after the initial setup. I checked some of my earlier wip versions of the file and the glitch does not occur. However I'd have to lose a significant amount of work to backtrack that far now.

System specs
intel Core i7-3770S 3.10 GHz
Ram 16 GB
graphics NVIDIA Geforce GTX 670

Thanks,

Karl

Nevermind, I was able to find a work around. It had something to do with the colourBlend nodes used to switch between IK/FK mode. I swapped it out for an orient constraint with a set driven key and that seems to have fixed the problem. Still no idea why the display renderer would have any effect on rig functionality...so bizarre.

Thanks for letting me know about this. Definitely a Maya bug. I prefer to use math nodes when possible to avoid the flipping that can happen with constraints. Also, I have always been under the impression that a node would be faster than a SDK, connection and constraint that it would take to do the same thing. -Dustin
