Thumb controllers remain in DNS_JointsLayer

Submitted byConstantine Krystallis Constantine Krystallis
Hey Dustin,

As I was rigging I discovered that when I closed the visibility of the Joints layer the Thumb controlers on both hands would disapear. After looking into it I discovered that the lWristJG2 and rWristJG2 null nodes were set in the Joints layer and for some reason they forced the thumb controlers to follow the Joint layer settings as well. As soon as I set the two nodes to the Controller layer the thumbs remained visible while closing the visibility of the Joint layer. Maybe you should look into it. Working on Maya 2011.

Catch ya latter.

PS. It would be awesome if you could make a video showing the process of setting up the dummy rig within a modeled. Showing the exact positions each dummy should be placed, things the user should be aware of etc.

Hi Constantine, Thanks for the bug! I hope to be rolling out another update very soon with a few new features, so I will roll that fix into the update. As far as a video goes, that is a great idea. One thing I have found with a lot of my users is they don't know how to model for rigging, so I am planning on doing a series of videos from character concept all the way through the production pipeline to final rendered animation. But in the more recent term, I will try to throw one together with a breakdown of setting up a rig. Dustin
