Feature Request

Forearm joint useless?

Status:added
Date:02/19/2011

Hi I love Rapid Rig Advanced, but the forearm joint seems completely useless. It does not seem to evaluate the writs rotations properly. I am guessing this has something to do with the rotation order of the wrist joint - it should be set so that there the twist (X) axis evaluates last, so that the forearm joint has a clean rotation channel to derive its own rotation from. Unfortunately, it is not setup this way. As a result, when I rotate the FK wrist controller up/down or left/right (which because of imcorrect rotation order, is influencing the X rotation), the forearm joint twists all over the place. Anyone else having this problem? I am using Maya 2011. I love this product, please fix this aggrivating bug.

Hi Greg, I just did a bit of investigating, and there are some transform values that are hanging around if depending on the initial setup based on the dummy locations. I am going to try and fix that based on what I have found, but if you could give me any additional information on your rig setup, that will probably help me out. Sorry for the troubles you are having, I will get fixing this ASAP! Dustin

Hi Greg, Thanks for sending me those details, I have uploaded version 1.4.5 which has improved channels for the driver of the forearm joint, and i changed the rotate order, so hopefully this one gives better results. If you over-rotate it, there is still a chance of a pop. Let me know how this update goes! Dustin
