Constant spine length?

Hello,

I'm considering Rapid Rig: Modular as it seems this system can make a cleaner rig and has better utility features (like IK <-> FK matching) than Advanced Skeleton.

One question, though: for the Spine IK chain, is it possible to fix the total length of the spine joints, so that you don't get any stretch/squash of the spine?  Or is it possible to modify the skeleton to do this after the generating the rig, without too much hassle?

    Yes, this is possible a couple of ways. On the spline, you can tell the joints to follow FK so that there is no stretching, as long as you only animate the rotation (not the translate or scale) of these controls. However you won't be able to use the actual IK functionality. A second option is to substitute the Spline IK with the FK chain module. The FK chain module has IK functionality as well, but this IK works like the traditional Maya splineIK where it won't stretch by default, regardless of where the IK controls in the module move to. There is a stretch attribute that can be enabled if desired.
