Playblast Compression weirdness

Submitted byFaisal Naqvi Faisal Naqvi
Hey Cameron,
There's a weird bug in the script even after you fixed the preferences window bug.

The quality of the playblasts from ShotView is coming out really pixelated and poor.

Find where the actual playblast command is (there are two occurances where this actually matters) and put these flags inside the command: -compression "IYUV codec" -quality 80

I have the same problem when I open it with any video player. does anyone know how to fix this?

G Smith's method works just fine. 1) Open the shotView.mel file and search for "playblast -" (there will be 3 different lines to edit) 2) at the end of the line (before the ;) add: -compression "IYUV codec" -quality 80 3) Save the file 4) Source the script in Maya 5) Execute the script again Your renders will be clear once again :)

You two are genius. For some odd reason, I forgot to source the script in Maya. Once I did that, the playblasts were clear. Also, I used -compression "none" -quality 100 instead because I wanted them uncompressed.
